Thank you for your interest in Seshat Press.com. Before you submit your work, please be sure that it is:
- completely edited and proofread (unless you want to purchase our editing package, and we'll edit your work for you),
- includes a book proposal,
- includes only the first three chapters, and if it's a novella you must include the first half of the work,
- is in a single file,
- is in Arial or Times Roman 12pt. font,
- sent in one of these document formats: a) .rtf (Rich Text Format) or b) .pdf (Portable Document Format), as an attachment to seshatpress@gmail.com, and
- on the first page of your work, please put your name and your email/contact information.

a. What types of work are you accepting?
We're currently accepting the following manuscripts:
- Business
- Career
- Comics
- Erotica
- Entertainment
- General Fiction

- Urban Stories (Fiction and Non-Fiction)
- Young Adult
We'll consider almost all genres, as long as they are the author's original work and are of good quality. However, we do not accept manuscripts that promote hate, violence, and child pornography.
We reserve the right to refuse any manuscript for any reason.
b. What are your royalty rates?
Seshat Press.com offers the folowing royalties:
- 50% royalties of the cover price of e-books offered off our site, and
- 50% of the profits for any of our other outlets.
In addition, you must have a Paypal account to receive royalties
We'll pay royalties quarterly.
c. When will I know if you've accepted my manuscript?
We'll try to contact you via e-mail to verify that we've received your manuscript (about 7-14 working days). If you don't hear from us in that period, please e-mail us using our report form. We hope to get back to you in 60 - 90 days to notify you about the final status of your work. Please be patient; we've got a lot of manuscripts to read.
d. Do you publish books in print?
Not right now. First, we'd like to see how much the public likes our e-book titles. Later, we plan to offer authors who decide to self-publish, the chance to do so with our Print on Demand (POD) publishing options.
e. What formats will my e-book be available in?
Right now we offer .pdf format allowing the reader to view the documet with the Adobe Reader and we plan to offer others.
f. Do you charge any fees to authors?
We only charge fees for the following:
- Convert your .rtf document to .pdf (for publishing/posting) - $20 per title
- Posting fee (to host your work on our Web site) - $20 per year
We know that some aspiring authors may need some basic help to put their manuscript together. Read the information at, "Publishing Services" to see what we offer.
g. What if I don't have a cover for my e-book?
Relax. We'll offer you a template format for an easy, economical way to get a cover to display your e-book online. The template is $60. Later, if you want to sell print copies and need a cover, we'll offer cover art, starting at $199.
h. Is my work safe with you?
You have a copyright in your work and we wouldn't violate that. For additional protection, we'll even help you to register your work with the US Copyright Office if you like, for a nominal fee. Our privacy policy is that we will not share your personal information with anyone. Also, we'll only share your manuscript with those who work with us, to publish your work.
i. Can I submit my work elsewhere?
Yes. Our contract with you is non-exclusive, meaning you keep the right to publish your work anywhere else you want.
j. How much can I sell my e-book for on your site?
The minimum list price we allow for an e-book is $4.95
k. Where is your contract?
We'll be sending it to authors whose work we accept.
